Macquarie University A$100 million 25-year A$MTN
In September 2018, DTW acted as capital markets adviser to a South Korean life insurance company and introduced them to the funding process for Macquarie University. The university executed a vanilla, broadly distributed 10-year transaction, with a specific additional 25-year tranche created for our client. A note issue of this tenor is unusual in A$MTN format.
This transaction once again demonstrated DTW’s market-leading coverage of the South Korean debt investor market.
Apart from being an excellent outcome for both our client and for Macquarie University, in April 2019 the deal won a global award for Sustainability Bond of the Year, primarily due to it being the longest-dated sustainability bond to date.
